This Cookie Policy is considered an integral part of the Personal Data Protection Code Information Note provided on all ShockModel S.r.l.. Sites (accessible via the relative link on each site). The Data Subject is entitled to exercise all rights foreseen by Art. 7 of L.D. 196/03, sending an email to info@shockmodel.com; to change the cookie settings, following the instructions provided in this Cookie Policy.

What are cookies?
Cookies consist of portions of code (files or partial data) sent by a server to the Internet browser used by the User, where they are automatically memorized and sent back to the same sites on the occasion of subsequent visits. A cookie will typically contain the name of the domain the cookie was sent from, the “lifetime” of the cookie (i.e. for how long it will remain on the user’s device), and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number . Each time the site is accessed, your browser accesses the cookie file and sends information to the server it was sent from (first-party cookies) or to another site that acknowledges them (third-party cookies). Cookies are useful as they allow a website to recognise the device of the user for different purposes such as, for example, to allow easy browsing between pages, remember your favourite websites and improve the all-round browsing experience. They also contribute to ensuring that the advertising content displayed online matches the user’s interests and preferences.

If the user decides to disable cookies, this could affect and/or restrict the browsing experience on the Sites; for instance, it may be impossible to access certain sections of a Site or users may not receive customised information when visiting the Sites.

How do cookies work and how can I remove them?
The way cookies work and the options available to restrict or disable cookies are found in the settings of the user’s internet browser. Most internet browsers are set to automatically accept cookies, users can however change these settings to disable cookies to receive a warning every time cookies are sent to their device. There are various ways of managing cookies so it is necessary to refer to the instruction manual or help section of your browser to learn how to change and adjust the settings. Users can change the default settings and disable cookies (i.e. block them entirely), by selecting the highest protection level.

What types and categories does ShockModel S.r.l. use and for which purposes?
The Sites use different types of cookies, each of which for a specific function. ShockModel S.r.l. uses cookies to make it easier to use the Sites and adapt the Sites and their products to suit the interests and needs of individual users. Cookies may also be used to speed up future activities and experience on the Sites. ShockModel S.r.l. also use cookies to compile anonymous aggregated statistics that allow it to understand how visitors use the Sites and improve the content and structure of the same: an explanatory list is provided below.

Technical cookies
“Technical” cookies are essential to make our Sites function correctly and allow users to browse the Sites and exploit its features (for instance by memorising previous actions or saving the session of the user and/or perform other activities that are absolutely necessary for the Sites to function properly such as, for example, the filling and maintenance of the shopping cart during purchase processes).

This category includes the “analytic” cookies that help ShockModel S.r.l. gain insight into how visitors use the Sites, gathering information on which web pages were last viewed, the number of sections and pages visited, the time spent on the Sites and any other browsing data such as error messages, to gain insight and understand any difficulties visitors encounter when using the Sites. This information could be linked to user details such as IP address, domain or browser; however they are analysed together with other user data so that it is impossible to identify any individual users. These cookies are anonymously collected and aggregated to allow ShockModel S.r.l. to improve its Site performance.

To conclude, functional cookies allow the Sites to record information about choices made by users (for instance the user name) to ensure an optimised and more tailored browsing for the latter. Functional cookies are not essential to Site functions, but improve the quality and browsing experience. If users do not accept these cookies, the quality of the Site functions may be compromised and access may be restricted to certain contents.

They may be used to display targeted advertising, to publish customised advertisements based on the interests of users or to restrict the number of times that an advert is displayed to a user. Moreover, they help to analyse the efficacy of the advertising campaigns on the Sites; ShockModel S.r.l. could use these cookies to record the Sites visited by users and share this information with third-parties, including agencies and advertisers who may use their cookies to collect data on user activities whilst on the Site.

Sharing cookies

Persistent cookies are used to automatically recognise users every time they visit the Sites (or other users using the same computer).

Third-party cookies
When a user browses the Sites, some cookies may be saved to the computer beyond the control of ShockModel S.r.l. This happens, for instance, if the user visits a page that contains third-party website content. The user will consequently receive cookies from such third-party services. ShockModel S.r.l. has no control over third-party cookies or the information provided by such cookies and can not access such data. This information is controlled exclusively by the third-parties as illustrated in their respective Privacy Policies.
